How to access a CIFS mounted share via your Tomato router

This setup will let you access a file share located on a remote network by mounting it with your Linksys router running Tomato firmware.

[*:1sy32nb4]Scroll down the list on the left, find [b:1sy32nb4]Administration, [/b:1sy32nb4]click it. [/*:m:1sy32nb4]
[*:1sy32nb4]Under [b:1sy32nb4]Administration, [/b:1sy32nb4]click [b:1sy32nb4]CIFS Client[/b:1sy32nb4].

[*:1sy32nb4]With the new page in front of you, set up CIFS as follows: [/*:m:1sy32nb4][/list:u:1sy32nb4]

(The above values will be to access the Shared folder on the Server).

[*:1sy32nb4]Leave [b:1sy32nb4]Domain [/b:1sy32nb4]blank, unless you are running a Domain and authenticate to it. [/*:m:1sy32nb4]

[*:1sy32nb4]Click [b:1sy32nb4]Save [/b:1sy32nb4]at the bottom, verify the router reports space on the share. [/*:m:1sy32nb4][/list:u:1sy32nb4]
Now that the share has been setup, it’s time to setup the connection to it. For this, we’ll use [b:1sy32nb4]WinSCP[/b:1sy32nb4] (Portable).
Create a new connection and configure as shown below.

If you receive an error about looking up [i:1sy32nb4]User Groups[/i:1sy32nb4], go to the [b:1sy32nb4]SCP/Shell[/b:1sy32nb4] tab, and deselect the [b:1sy32nb4]Lookup user groups[/b:1sy32nb4] option.
